BIG Concert
Announcement:
Scott Tennant and Ricardo Cobo will both be performing at LMU
in September and October, as part of the newly-established LMU
/ GSI Concert and Masterclass Series. Tennant will also be offering a Masterclass.
Go to http://www.lmu.edu/colleges/cfa/music/guitarseries/
for dates, ticket prices and more information.
After being riddled
with sufficient grief by my friends, I've made some updates. Our last three
playlists have been added (I need to dig around for the other ones.) More pages
have been revamped to eliminate layers.
We've sent some notes to people about the possibility of doing ticket giveaways
during our show. We would love to help you promote your guitar event. Email
us at fromthegut@chickmail.com
or call in during the show (310-338-5958).

The From the Gut site has been hideously under-updated. We have playlists to add & new links galore, thanks to the feedback of our faithful listeners and other guitar aficionados around the world. We will do our best to get these things up this week. Note some minor changes to the look of the website (I'm not crazy abou the way the LAYERS were behaving!)
Some concert news: Scott Tennant and Ricardo Cobo with both be playing at LMU (separate days) in Murphy Recital Hall this fall. I'll post the specific info by next week. Needless to say we here at FTG are extremely excited, and will keep you apprised of upcoming info. We're going to try to have both of them come up to the station for an interview the week of their concert.

From the Gut has gone online. I designed the website and posted it on LMU's web server. Links will soon be established to search engines as well as KXLU's homepage.

From the Gut officially went on the air at 6:00 p.m. Turned out to be a great show. Played selections from Liona Boyd's Spanish Fantasy LP, one of John Williams guitar and harpsichord duos, as well as Lalo Schifrin's Concerto for Guitar. After the show Mike and I talked about better promoting the show, and by the end of last week we made some flyers to promote the show, which Mike took to Santa Monica College to post in their Music Department.
